Time travel with awesome affects is probably the best way I can describe X-Men: Days of Future Past.
I have already read a couple different “fanboy” sites where the movie is getting beat up because it doesn’t hold true to the 1981 comic story line.

I want to first start by stating that this Wolverine is NOT a continuance of the Origins: Wolverine (2009) movie. This story actually follows the X-Men 3: The Last Stand (2006). In the end of The Last Stand (sorry if you are unaware), Logan approaches Jean Gray as the Dark Phoenix spirit is controlling her and she is killing mutants (good and bad). Continue Reading

In the fashion world it’s generally recognized that things run in cycles. What was popular in the 1990’s will probably rear its head again in the 2020’ or 2030’s, if not sooner. The same goes for Hollywood. Movies that were good in the near or distant past will inevitably be remade by someone trying to spark that same fire again. Sometimes a remake is done well: King Kong, Dawn of the Dead, Ocean’s Eleven and True Grit to name a few. Others have been disastrous mistakes and are quite often totally ignored by fans of the originals: Superman Returns, Planet of the Apes, Poseidon and Dirty Dancing, for example.
