There is little disagreement among fans that episode III is the best of the prequels. I would definitely agree with that, and I’ll even take it one step further. For me, Revenge of the Sith comes pretty close to the quality of the original trilogy.

The Walking Dead has become notorious for its mid-season and season ending finales. From killing off major characters to full-scale militaristic invasions, the show knows how to conclude with a bang and leave their audience hanging. Knowing that, it’s probably safe to say that the season six mid-season finale fell short of such expectations. (Spoilers ahead)

My oldest son, now 21, was young when the prequels started coming out; he was only 8 in 2002 when this movie was released. He enjoyed watching them, and I was pretty Blah about them. I haven’t seen the prequels in at least 6 years and just watched I & II.

Since episode 3 when Glenn seemingly met his end falling into a herd of walkers, we’ve had an even mix of episodes that focus specifically on a couple people or on the group as a whole. Sometimes, as with Morgan’s episode Here’s Not Here, it has worked. Other times, as with the previous two episodes in my opinion, it has left a lot to be desired. In Heads Up we get another episode showing circumstances in the entire group, but it succeeds because of the strength of the themes pushing the stories along. (spoilers ahead)

Almost halfway through the season and we’ve yet to see fan favorite Daryl take up more than five minutes of screen time. That changes in this episode as we finally learn what comes of him, Abraham and Sasha in their efforts to lead the walkers away from Alexandria. (spoilers ahead)

We have a lot of unknowns going into the fifth episode of this young season. Will Morgan reveal his prisoner to anyone? Is Carol’s cover completely blown? What is Glenn’s true fate? We saw a lot of interaction, but one thing we didn’t see was any of those unknowns being resolved. (spoilers ahead)

About this time in season five we got a string of Beth-centric episodes revealing what happened after she was abducted. This season we get a one-off flashback of how Morgan went from the psychotic loner in season three’s “Clear”, to a peaceful loner convinced that all life is precious by the time he catches up with our group in Alexandria. But as the wraparound reveals, his attempts to tame one of the wolves could have dire consequences for the rest of the community. (spoilers ahead)
The film opens to the grotesque heritage of Alabama during the civil rights era and the bombings of the sixties. Desegregation had been demanded by the government. That lead to schools being “forced together” in the early 70’s.
The film is a true story of what happened when one school, Woodlawn, bused about 500 black students to a school of about 2000 white students. A school where an assistant principal is also a football coach from a previously all white team to suddenly a mostly white team with a few black players.

We’ve grown accustomed to shock and awe in season finales, premieres, and mid-season finale’s. Nothing could have prepared us for the heart-wrenching scenes in just third episode of this young season. (spoilers ahead)

What seemed to be playing out as a successful plan in First Time Again was brought to an abrupt halt at the sound of a horn blaring across the countryside from the direction of Alexandria. The brutes of our bunch abandoned the failed plan and began to race back home with all manner of frightful situations running through their mind. JSS confirms our worst fears; while the guards are away the wolves come to play. (spoilers ahead)
