Moby Dick is often referred to as America’s first great epic. The story that inspired this novel is the sinking of a whale ship, the Essex, in 1820 at the hands of a giant sperm whale. With widespread notoriety and the source of a beloved novel, this film adaptation of a Nathaniel Philbrick book by the same name has a lot to live up to. While most wouldn’t argue that Ron Howard is up to the task, early criticism indicates in the heart of the sea does little more than tread water.

It’s always awkward meeting your love interest’s family. When his father is racist and his brother is a narcissistic psychopath, it’s even more so.
After the epicosity of The Avengers, it’s been interesting to watch how the individual heroes are faring. Iron Man 3 was, in my opinion, the best Iron Man film yet. It also reminded us of an undeniable fact: stuff like what happened in New York changes people. Tony Stark will never be the same. Agent Coulson will never be the same either, as we have seen in Agents of SHIELD. The same is true of Thor. Continue Reading
