Was 2013 a good year for movies? Is there a more subjective question that I could ask? Either way, I’m not in a position to answer. My schedule didn’t permit me to see near as many movies as I would have liked, but I really enjoyed every time I got to watch a new movie, especially in the theater. Here is an update to the top 5 movies I was most interested in seeing in 2013.

The movies I was looking forward to most this year and the movies that are my favorite from the year ended up being two pretty different lists. Here are the movies I was looking forward to the most (in no particular order)

1. The Wolverine (July 26): This movie did NOT disappoint. It wasn’t as much of a back story as I originally expected, but one that I appreciated seeing with time skipping from past and then back to the present. The story is about Logan finding himself after he has killed Jean Gray (X-Men 3). It’s a struggle for him to find his way back, but he does. My biggest worry going into the movie theatre was the portrayal of the Silver Samurai. Continue Reading
