  1. Great review! This is definitely one of my favorite movies. Luther’s story is an amazing one. I do think it’s important to emphasize that Luther didn’t leave the Cathlolic Chuch, he’s was excommunicated. And everyone knows his theology is flawless 🙂 jk

    • His excommunication does show that the church was beyond help though, and established on a bad foundation, so the film, if nothing else, does indicate to us that sometimes leaving is necessary. And I don’t think that Luther by the end of his life would have wanted to come back if they’d let him, either.
