Rant by Tres
I just returned home from seeing Transformers: Age of Extinction. (Look for my review soon on LTBM!)
I have to say I was impressed for the most part. I was enthralled until this…
What is that? Yes, I know they claim it to be a new element, Transformium. However, did the special effects people stick a bunch of angel hair pasta and sugar cubes together?
I truly was shocked to see this even make it through the editing cut.
It’s as if they spent the $210 million (their film budget) and suddenly worried about the extra million it would take to remove the cartoon image from the movie. That’s what it looked like to me.
I’m not wanting to give too much away before my review, but I felt like things were dead on. I didn’t even mind the cubes when Decepticons transformed. They looked real enough. However, the first time we see this new element… CARTOONISH! Tucci’s eyes didn’t even line up with what was “in” his hands.
If you spend $210 million on a movie, drop the extra money off at the CGI station and let them make this scene look real.
Stay tuned for my review on the entire film.
