I joined the group a little late, but I was looking forward to a few movies this year.
1. Man of Steel
2. Hunger Games: Catching Fire
3. Now You See Me
4. The Conjuring
5. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters
Man of Steel was everything I thought I would be, you can check out my full review here. The main complaint was long fright scenes. Our moral dilemma post covered the death of Zod, this was the first time something of this nature has occurred and people had strong emotions on both sides.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was even better than I thought it would be! I have not read any of the books and have been waiting on the film to answer questions I had. I still don’t have all the answers, but the characters are amazing as well as the actors that play them. I thought the ending was one of the best cliff hangers in cinematic history! Check out Tres review here.
Now You See Me wasn’t what I was hoping for. It ending up being just ok. There was a lot of hype about the film. I know that it is a movie about magic, but I was hoping it would be more believable than it was. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t too over the top and no one actually had “magical powers”, but I just don’t believe the plot twist or some of the tricks that were pulled off. Tres reviewed this one too, check it out here.
The Conjuring was probably the scariest movie that I have seen since I was a kid. I jumped a few times in the theater and even wanted a couple of the scenes to be over and averted my eyes! If you like a good scare you should check it out.
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters was definitely a much-anticipated sequel. It seemed like it took forever to be released, but it was worth the wait. I love the combination of Greek Mythology and our modern times. It is a great adventure for both young and
First time I have seen man of steel at the top of one of these, great film though 😀
I’m also slightly biased because I have been a Superman fan for 30+ years.
Haha that would sway an opinion 😀
